Propagation of Sound in Dispersed Media

Acoustics of fog and bubbly liquids

Acoustic properties of dispersed media, such as atmospheric fog or bubbly liquids, have always been of great interest. Damping and refraction of sound waves has been extensively studied with simplified models where the effects of suspended particles were incorporated as source terms for the balance equations.
We aim to study the propagation of sound waves with detailed simulations and provide data for closure of the phenomenological models.
