MULTISCALE MODELING OF COMPLEX SYSTEMS : BRIDGING DATA DRIVEN PROBLEMS AND LARGE SCALE SIMULATIONS
PROJECT DESCRIPTION :
This project will develop a multiscale framework for the simulation of complex systems with an emphasis on using data (mostly biological) for model development and validation. These multiscale models will represent the different levels and physical components of the underlying processes, they will account for uncertainty inherent in biological/engineering systems and in experimental measurements and they will be incorporated in a reverse engineering process in order to be validated and to have predictive capabilities. Applications include problems in development, biomechanics, cancer and micro/nano fluidics.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR :
We solicit applicants with a background in Computational Sciences, with strong interest in challenging interdisciplinary research. Experience in areas such as multiscale modeling, uncertainty quantification, machine learning, High Performence Computing and GPU programming is highly desirable.
HOW TO APPLY :
Please email a CV with detailed information, including names and contact details of three people familiar with your work as well as a representative publication to Professor Petros Koumoutsakos (petros@ethz.ch)
